New York Host
We are an artist/professor and art worker, headed to Los Angeles for a residency. Our home is comfortable, and welcoming.
About the Apartment
Renovated apartment in a pre-war building with friendly neighbors. The apartment is on the second floor, and very quiet. Both rooms are the same size: a little bigger than 8 x 12, with big windows and good closets (floorplan is in the images). The kitchen was renovated and is well stocked with tools, as cooking is something we enjoy doing. Laundry in the basement.
About the Neighborhood
We are located on Butler Place, a quiet one block long street just off Plaza St. Some say it is the best block in Prospect Heights, and we would agree with them! The apartment is two blocks from Prospect Park, Brooklyn Museum, and the Botanical Gardens. It is two blocks from the 2/3 and four blocks from the B/Q. Prospect Heights is a friendly residential neighborhood, with great restaurants/bars (Weather Up, Soda, Washington Common, Chuko, Olmsted, The Vanderbilt, James, Flatbush Farm, Franny’s, Sunshine Co., etc.) and all the necessary elements (grocery store, shopping, yoga) in walking distance. The Park Slope Food coop is close:
I work in multiple forms and disciplines in order to trace the lines of political and symbolic power, as it takes shape online. Ordering and reordering information, remixing the forms in which it manifests or solidifies. I'm interested in the ways in which new technologies impact our lives, and the politics and poetics of technological subjectivities.
